Meltdown Comics, in Los Angeles, hosted a Q+A with Daniel Clowes last night. They'd already run through all the "Daniel Clowes Meltdown" decals, so we made a 2nd, Special Edition to remember this day. This series features metallic, aqua ink and a Meltdown bumper-sticker, commemorating the publication of The Art Of Daniel Clowes: Modern Cartoonist. Meltdown has the decals and a limited number of uncut production sheets (or "posters") for sale.

DANIEL CLOWES MELTDOWN

In 1996, Daniel Clowes - already a culturally significant cartoonist - designed the now famous MELT logo for the recently opened Meltdown Comics and Collectibles in Los Angeles. It was an inspired pairing of artist and outlet, tying the two together at a particular time and place without tying them down. Seriously!

During that period, Clowes designed several characters for Meltdown. A few are well known, while most have remained obscure. ALL of them are cool, and 9 of them are now Stinckers!

DANIEL CLOWES MELTDOWN series decals are currently available at Meltdown, and you can buy them SOON wherever STINCKERS are sold. Wherever that is!

The Right-On people at Meltdown Comics and Collectibles went a little Nuts for Mark Todd's fantastic LAME ASS series. What I heard was the last guy in line pushed $7 worth of quarters into the vendor hoping for a FRY GUY decal before inventory ran out (even leaving 1 extra quarter in the tray as if to say, I dunno, something). I wish I could hook you up with one, but those were the last we had. Maybe GIANT ROBOT still has a sheet for sale? Or Mr. Todd himself?

ANYHOW, we've refilled the machine with Joven's Non-Stop Rokken designs, plus Mats' rare GLITTERBOTZ. + there are still a few ELC and POISON PENS to be had so don't miss out if you can help it
